The 1st International Watercolor Exhibition of IWS Finland in Helsinki in 2019

Once again, there was cause for celebration when my painting was accepted into the 1st International Watercolor Exhibition and Festival of IWS Finland (International Watercolour Society) at Helsinki’s Cable Factory from July 9 to July 14, 2019. It was the largest watercolor art event in Finland up to that point and also the first IWS international art exhibition in Northern Europe. The theme of the exhibition was Nature – Power – Beauty.

Fortunately, I was also able to participate in the main event at the Cable Factory. The event was an unforgettable experience with its opening ceremony, artist dinners, numerous watercolor demonstrations and workshops. Guests came from various countries, including Germany, Spain, and Peru. I had the opportunity to meet new art enthusiasts from Finland, Sweden, and Iceland. During the opening event, I participated in a demonstration led by Russian artist Sergey Temerev, where he showcased his technique for painting clouds. The following day featured a workshop by German watercolorist Viktoria Prischedko, where we worked on a free subject using the wet-on-wet technique, along with several freely followed demonstrations at Helsinki Central Library Oodi.

My wolf painting, titled ‘Lonely Heart,’ was part of the exhibition.
